Paraguay will be able to export beef to the United States after 25 years

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Yesterday, the Government announced the approval of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to export beef from Paraguay. President Santiago Peña celebrated the milestone that occurred again after 25 years.

«Paraguay conquers the US with the best meat in the world. We celebrate the reopening of the US market for Paraguayan meat, the result of the union of efforts between the Government of Paraguay, national producers, and the meat processing industry,» he expressed in a message and video broadcast on his social networks.

The approval was confirmed after the visit of the Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment at the Department of State, José W. Fernández, who met with President Peña yesterday afternoon.

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (Aphis) inspection from the United States ended on November 9, and the authorization to import refrigerated and frozen meat from Paraguay will come into effect as of December 14.

Authorities highlighted the announcement, demonstrating that Paraguayan producers comply with the strict technical requirements of the North American market.
