President begins intense work agenda at the business and bilateral level in New York

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, arrived this Sunday in New York for his first presentation as a Head of State at the United Nations General Assembly session.

The Head of state claimed he will maintain an intense agenda for five days. His first activities were this Sunday with an encounter with the former President of Colombia, Iván Duque, and a dinner presentation in the Harvard Club of New York with the Concordia Group business people.

He will also be the Keynote speaker of business events organized by LatinFinance, Financial Times, the Council of the Americas and Citibank, where he will share with investors worldwide.

Regarding his bilateral agenda, meetings of the Prime Ministers of Japan, Fumio Kishida from Corea; Han Duck-soo from Israel; Benjamín Netanyahu; the Vice Prime Minister of England, Oliver Dowden; and the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce are planned, according to the Chancellor Rubén Ramírez.

The presentation of the Paraguayan President is due on Tuesday, 19 September, during the fifth plenary session and second of that day, starting at 03:00 local time (same time in Paraguay).

Santiago Peña is in eighth place on the list of speakers, and his speech will be focused on the defence of Paraguay, the development that his Government was to project, and broader global integration.

The retinue that accompanies the President is composed of the First Lady of the Nation, Leticia Ocampos; the Chancellor Rubén Ramírez; the Head of Cabinet, Lea Giménez; the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Giménez; the Minister of Economy and Finances, Carlos Fernández; the Coordinator of the First Lady Office, Alicia Pomata; and the Head of Presidential Security, Oscar Sostoa.
