President projects an intense international agenda for this year

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, will hold an agenda with lots of international movement for what is left of this year. Among the following trips are Washington (United States), Santiago (Chile) and the United Arab Emirates for the COP28.

The National Chancellor, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, informed that the President will travel to Washington, United States, to participate in business and environmental events. It will be from October 22 to 25.

Between the end of October and the beginning of November, the President will travel to Santiago, the Capital of Chile, to meet with his counterpart, Gabriel Boric.

Likewise, Peña’s participation is expected for the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28), which will convene from November 30 to December 12 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In that order, the President will travel on December 7 to Brazil for the Mercosur Summit, where Paraguay will receive the pro tempore presidency of the regional bloc that will hold it until July 2024.

Another trip planned for this year is to Buenos Aires to participate in the inauguration of the new President of Argentina, whose ceremony is scheduled for December 10.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke about an intended visit of Santiago Peña to the Capital of Arabia Saudi, Riad, that will take place before the trip to Dubai or after it to “close an agenda with lots of movement”, according to the expressions of the Chancellor.

“Additionally, regarding the trips I will be taking, Mr. President, I am attending to an invitation from the Chancellor of Italy, where all the Chancellors of Latin America will meet. I will also interview with the cardinal that manages foreign relations of the Vatican to organize a visit to  Your Holiness so that we can have that international agenda covered”, detailed Ramírez Lezcano past Monday during the Council of Ministers.
