Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, received this afternoon in an official visit His Excellency Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan.
He was received at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano. Subsequently, Kishida was received by the Head of State in the garden of the Government Palace. They held a private meeting between them. Later, there will be an expanded meeting with the participation of both leaders’ delegations.
After these meetings, a statement to the media is scheduled. There is also a business forum planned, which will be attended by President Peña, the Prime Minister of Japan, and businesspersons.
In the evening, a ceremony will be held to award the «National Order of Merit, in the grade of Grand Cross Extraordinary» to the Prime Minister of Japan. Finally, there will be a dinner hosted by Peña in the Liberty Hall of the Government Palace.
The return trip of Prime Minister Kishida is scheduled for Saturday morning, May 4. He made other official visits to the region as well.
