The first group of Paraguayans rescued from Israel arrived this morning

Asunción, Agencia IP. This morning, the first group of Paraguayans rescued from the conflict zone of Israel arrived in our country. They thanked the assistance and accompaniment of the Government.

During many emotions, family members and friends received them at the International Airport Silvio Pettirosi.

Their arrival was concretized through coordinated work between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of Repatriates. For the coming Sunday, another group of 21 people is expected to arrive.

One of the repatriates related the difficult moment she went through in Israel after the attacks of the terrorist group Hamas. “It was maddening; I never thought it would get so far. We feel so tired. It was very stressful, but what is important is that we are already here”.

Likewise, she highlighted the work and assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its different embassies. Their diplomats attended personally to their fellow citizens. “They took care of us; they were fast and kind and managed to stay calm, which is what helped us to return to our country”, she detailed.

Another person who returned claimed that she had been unable to sleep for the past three days due to her concern and desperation to return to our country and reunite with her family and loved ones.

“I was lucky to be in Tel Aviv, a city that was safe when I was there. There were no attacks, but the fear and tension were impressive, and I was not prepared for that. On the first opportunity I had, I contacted the Embassy. I asked for help to leave the country, and they were already there in two days- They made everything possible. The result is that today, I am already in my country”, she finally expressed.
