The government receives disbursements from Taiwan for indigenous communities

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Government received a disbursement of US$ 8 million to finance 1,000 homes for indigenous people. It is the second disbursement for housing solutions to be executed by the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat (MUVH, by its acronym in Spanish).

The signing of the reception document took place this Tuesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the participation of the MUVH Minister, Juan Carlos Baruja, Chancellor Ruben Ramírez, and the Ambassador of Taiwan, José Han.

«The Project includes initiatives aiming at the reduction of quantitative housing deficit of indigenous people in situations of poverty and extreme poverty, providing families with decent housing with basic infrastructure, urban equipment, and social support,» reported the National Chancellery.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) has supported similar projects of MUVH, such as constructing houses in the San Blas neighborhood and over 4.500 homes in the last five years through projects such as Che Tapyi and Fonavis.
