Asunción, Agencia IP.- The international culinary guide Taste Atlas has chosen Paraguay’s vorí vorí as the best soup in the world in 2023.
On this date, the renowned gastronomic guide announced the winners of its annual culinary awards, with the vorí vorí standing out as the world’s best soup.
The publication describes vorí vorí as a hearty Paraguayan soup filled with beef or chicken, fluffy dumplings made from corn flour and cheese, and vegetables such as carrots, celery, and onions.
This traditional Paraguayan soup is traditionally seasoned with bay leaves, cloves, and parsley, while saffron gives it a rich golden color.
It is particularly popular during the cold winter, but it is sometimes also enjoyed in the summer. Serving it warm, sprinkled with parsley or oregano, and accompanied by grated Parmesan cheese as a side is recommended. The soup is nutrient-rich, with many variations, such as those with grilled chicken pieces.
«The word «vori» means ball, referring to the corn flour balls found in it,» details the publication.
