Asunci\u00f3n, Agencia IP.-<\/em><\/strong> The President of the Republic, Santiago Pe\u00f1a, received foreign port investors that aim to build the largest grain terminal in Uruguay, which will benefit Paraguay since it will provide an impulse to the construction of barges and, therefore, impulse the national workforce.<\/p>\n

The project was announced by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Gim\u00e9nez, who accompanied Rub\u00e9n Mart\u00ednez and Angeliki Frangou, referents of the Navios Maritime Holdings enterprise.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the Minister of Industry and Commerce (MIC) explained that the multinational will invest USD 30 million in Uruguay to build the largest terminal for mineral transhipment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will benefit Paraguay since it will provide an enormous impulse to our industry in the construction of barges and Paraguayan workforce, considering that we are the third biggest fleet of barges in the world\u201d, mentioned this Thursday during a press conference in Mburuvicha R\u00f3ga.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that with all the volume that will cross through the waterway, Paraguay projects to be the regional hub for logistics services, with an increase in the workforce in ports and pluvial transport.<\/p>\n

In Paraguay, they are working on port investments in logistical transportation through barges and assets in Uruguay, where the transhipment project they have is, he stated about the multinational.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Angeliki Frangou valued the minister\u2019s opening. In that sense, she pointed out that the perspectives of the government encouraged her to keep investing not only in Paraguay but in Uruguay, too, and in the whole waterway complex.<\/p>\n
