Aware of this, my government has decided to engage in a frontal fight against corruption by inviting the other state powers to join this titanic task in a common and joint effort\u00bb, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The President also stated that all authorities agree that corruption is a flagellum that requires the state&#8217;s coordinated, multidisciplinary, and transversal effort to banish it from its institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00abIt is an issue that holds economic growth, causes lost public trust, and debilitates the credibility of institutions. Besides, it distorts economic markets, discourages investment and increases the costs to do business, decreases the competitiveness as a country and limits its potential\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00abCorruption hurts; it is unnegotiable. Paraguay has made important advances during the last few years, although this is not always highlighted. There have been significant changes in public administration aiming to reach a more transparent state\u00bb, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Likewise, the President admitted that the state&#8217;s efforts alone are insufficient. In that context, he mentioned that a proper fight against corruption requires collective action in which all levels of society participate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">In that same line, Pe\u00f1a claimed that it is necessary to establish a public policy that systematizes and coordinates the fight against corruption and includes all branches of state power, the media, the academic sector, and all civil society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Finally, he said that his administration is designing a strategy of frontal fight to obtain consensus and achieve the final objective.
