Asunci\u00f3n, Agencia IP.-<\/em><\/strong> Technicians of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay continued with the review of the navigability conditions of the Paran\u00e1 River, from its confluence with Paraguay’s River until the Santa Fe Port, in the framework of the II Expert Meetings that took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the occasion, beacons, route adjustments, and complementary navigation aids were discussed. The point of the most significant debate was regarding the interventions carried out on the path.<\/p>\n

In all analyzed cases, it was confirmed that the time between the detection of anomalies in the navigation channel, the adjustment of the trace, and its signaling is made during periods when they are not sufficient and efficient to guarantee safe navigability.<\/span><\/p>\n

The technicians of the Paraguayan delegation estimated that, from the information presented by Argentina, an average periodicity of interventions that accounts for a reaction time of 150 days for the correction of traces, which is why they rated that these interventions do not provide conditions of predictability necessary for efficient navigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the analysis and technical debates, it is still concluded that interventions are still needed to configure services effectively provided to navigation, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a part of the technical consults, the exchange of updated knowledge about the reality of the navigable path and the difficulties found by experts in navigating the Paraguayan delegation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, the Argentine proposal to carry out navigation tests on the path\u00a0on November 14, 15, and 16<\/strong>, with the participation of experts designated by five countries, was taken note.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paraguay’s delegation was composed of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, the National Administration of Navigation and Ports of the Navy Command, experts in transportation systems, bathymetry, hydrology, and navigation, members of the National Commission of the Paraguay-Paran\u00e1 Waterway.<\/span><\/p>\n
