{"id":484297,"date":"2024-01-23T12:04:38","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T15:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ip.gov.py\/ip\/?p=484297"},"modified":"2024-01-23T18:51:25","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T21:51:25","slug":"itaipu-clarifies-that-ministers-serving-on-the-board-of-directors-do-not-receive-additional-remuneration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ip.gov.py\/ip\/2024\/01\/23\/itaipu-clarifies-that-ministers-serving-on-the-board-of-directors-do-not-receive-additional-remuneration\/","title":{"rendered":"Itaipu clarifies that ministers serving on the Board of Directors do not receive additional remuneration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>Asunci\u00f3n, Agencia IP.-<\/strong><\/em> Itaipu clarifies that ministers and the legal advisor to the Presidency, holding positions on the Board of Directors of the Binational entity, do so without receiving additional salary or allowances beyond what is stipulated for their roles as ministers of the Executive Branch.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s1\">In other words, unlike other members of the Board, Economy, and Finance Minister Carlos Fern\u00e1ndez Valdovinos, Industry and Commerce Minister Javier Gim\u00e9nez Garc\u00eda de Z\u00fa\u00f1iga, Presidential Legal Advisor Roberto Moreno Rodr\u00edguez, and Foreign Minister Rub\u00e9n Dar\u00edo Ram\u00edrez Lezcano do not receive Itaipu&#8217;s monthly remuneration of G. 119 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s1\">Presidential Decree No. 245 of 5\/09\/2023 explicitly states that the officials nominated in that document to join the Board of Directors will receive as their sole and exclusive salary that of their respective positions as Ministers of Economy and Finance, Industry and Commerce, and Legal Advisor to the Presidency, respectively.
