Asunci\u00f3n, Agencia IP.-<\/strong> <\/em>The United Nations Population Fund has published an article highlighting the figure of \u00abPantera Guaran\u00ed\u00bb and her leadership in women’s sports.<\/p>\n

\u00abBoth on and off the track, Camila has proven to be a woman who relentlessly pursues her dreams, although she acknowledges that it has not been easy,\u00bb says the article.<\/p>\n

It reviews the life of the athlete who, in 2023, was recognized by the British network BBC as one of the 100 most influential women in the world, thanks to her outstanding athletic career and commitment to gender equality and environmental care.<\/p>\n

The article highlights that losing her father at just five years old was difficult. Still, with the unconditional support of her mother, Magdalena Cubas, she overcame this adversity and became the woman she is today.<\/p>\n

\u00abShe taught me to be strong. I think I can speak and be the voice of many women who still do not dare to raise their voices, thanks to the experience and inspiration I have from my mother,\u00bb says Camila.<\/p>\n

From a young age, Camila was immersed in a stimulating sports environment, as her father and mother practiced basketball and athletics. This family influence led her to explore a wide range of disciplines; however, athletics, specifically the heptathlon, captivated her heart.<\/p>\n

The heptathlon, a combined speed, strength, and skill test, required rigorous preparation. To achieve this goal, the young athlete had to make a difficult decision: leave her hometown, Ayolas, 300 kilometers from the capital, and move to Asunci\u00f3n for better facilities and training.<\/p>\n

The sacrifice paid off. In 2006, just ten months after migrating, Camila won her first gold medal at the South American Junior Athletics Championship, representing Paraguay in Venezuela.<\/p>\n

\u00abSince then, she has continued to achieve national and international successes that have established her as one of the leading figures in Paraguayan athletics: she holds Paraguayan records in the heptathlon, 200 meters, 400 meters, 100 meters hurdles, 60 meters hurdles, high jump, long jump, and shot put.\u00bb<\/p>\n

A significant achievement in Camila’s life is that she earned a scholarship to study Biology at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States, thanks to sports.<\/p>\n

Camila has demonstrated unwavering tenacity despite the injuries that have marked her career. Her participation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was a milestone in her career. Her legacy in sports is secured, and her story inspires new generations of athletes and all women striving to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.<\/p>\n

For her, it is encouraging to see more women involved in professional sports. She recalls that \u00abthe growth of Paraguayan women’s sports began in Asunci\u00f3n 2022, where women won more medals than men.
