Asunci\u00f3n, Agencia IP.-<\/strong><\/em> The Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Paraguay, Ivan Y. J. Lee, highlighted the bilateral cooperation agenda, the progress in joint projects, and the opportunities for economic expansion between the two countries during an interview on the program Tribuna<\/em>, broadcast by Paraguay TV.<\/p>\n

The diplomat, who has been in the country for three months on his current mission, noted that his arrival coincides with a period of intense diplomatic activity and coordinated work with various institutions.<\/p>\n

Lee emphasized that one of the central pillars of the bilateral relationship is cooperation in strategic areas such as health, education, technology, and institutional development. In this regard, he highlighted the implementation of digitalization systems in the Paraguayan healthcare system, deployed across more than 1,000 health facilities, which improve control of medical supplies, patient monitoring, and clinical data management. In his view, these tools enhance the system’s efficiency and contribute to more modern, organized care.<\/p>\n

In the area of \u200b\u200beducation, he emphasized the role of the Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University (UPTP) as a flagship cooperation project focused on developing human capital in engineering. He explained that the institution already has several graduating classes who are joining key sectors such as infrastructure, public works, and technological development, contributing to the country’s modernization processes.<\/p>\n

On the economic front, the ambassador referred to the results of President Santiago Pe\u00f1a’s recent visit to Taiwan, which led to the consolidation of key trade agreements, including the opening of Taiwan’s market to Paraguayan poultry. He emphasized that this step represents a significant opportunity for the growth of national exports, given the size and demand of the Asian market. \u00abThere is significant room for growth for Paraguay in this market,\u00bb he noted.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned the growing interest of Taiwanese companies in investing in Paraguay in sectors such as technology, advanced textiles with artificial intelligence, and electric transportation. These initiatives are part of an economic diversification strategy that seeks to strengthen competitiveness and attract new industries to the country.<\/p>\n
