Asunción, Agencia IP.- The approach of Paraguay to big technological enterprises such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon during the recent visit of President Santiago Peña to the United States is the right way to take Paraguay into modernity, attracting investments and generating employment.
This is what Nico García, Paraguayan entrepreneur, designer, and co-founder of Trady.com, a new technology development center, which currently has an office in Utah, United States, considers it.
«This should be celebrated because it is the first step that we have to give to take Paraguay to the modernity and convert it into an operations center of high technology for the entire region and even for the world,» said García regarding the meetings that President Peña maintained in the United States with leaders of the technological sector giants.
According to García, «Paraguay should be an operations center for the digital world for large companies» because it has all the benefits of economic and political stability that these companies demand, and even «it is much more attractive and beneficial» than Brazil or Argentina, as he stated.
He highlighted that President Peña’s government seeks to approach and advance in conversations to present Paraguay as a place that attracts big technological enterprises, which is an important step that must be continued.
«This kind of approach to technology giants are advances and accurate steps that the government is making, and I think it is important to highlight,» they said during an interview with Paraguay’s National Radio.
«These actions are right, and we must keep investing in our Nation’s branding abroad to demonstrate the benefits that we have compared to our country’s neighbors», he added.
García indicated that the challenge is to develop more technical levels. Still, anyway, in the country, there is a «workforce of international standards» and «thousands of many great programmers» that can work for the big enterprises.
Unlike primary sector industries, which do not necessarily require a workforce of high technical capacity, «here we are talking about professionals that can work in Paraguay and export that capacity to any country of the world», he said.
«A lot of times it is spoken about opening markets for meat or another area, but Paraguay has to offer its labor, political and economic stability, the benefits and incentives it has for the enterprises,» he claimed.
Likewise, he affirmed that Paraguay is still an unknown country. Because of this, it is crucial to assume the challenge to «make Paraguay known for the good things we have.»
