President reaffirms commitment to make Paraguay a technological center

Asunción, Agencia IP.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to reinforce actions to position Paraguay as a technological center in the region.

This was revealed on Tuesday in a video posted on his social media, in which Peña commented on his experience at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2024 (MWCB), the most important forum in terms of technology held in Barcelona, Spain.

«What we’ve seen these past two days is truly impressive. We’ve engaged with companies sharing their plans and state-of-the-art technology,» informed the President.

In that context, he mentioned that during interactions with top executives from leading global companies, international governments, and technology firms, they discussed the actions that the country has been undertaking and plans to position Paraguay as a technological center in a very dynamic region of the world, with young people, energy, and a vision that wants to project from Paraguay to the world, he added.

«We are very pleased to participate, to see Paraguay here planting a flag in the technological world,» he expressed finally.

On Tuesday, the President is scheduled to have lunch with business people and meetings with representatives from firms such as Nokia, Amazon, IBM Artificial Intelligence, Thales Group, and other members of the GSMA, an organization of mobile operators and related companies.

He plans to travel to Madrid, where his first activity will be to participate in a discussion with members of the Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America.
