Asunción, Agencia IP.- Miguel Mora, a board member of the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP), stated that the dollar has shown stability in recent days, contrasting with last week’s acceleration in the exchange rate.
«We see a stable dollar at the moment, which has settled around 7,910 guaraníes, decreasing by about 50 to 60 points compared to the previous week,» Mora said in a radio interview, noting that this brings certainty to the market.
He pointed out that the BCP is fulfilling the commitment outlined in last week’s statement, which announced daily sales of at least 15 million dollars in the currency market to seek exchange rate stability.
«The goal was to mitigate these abrupt exchange rate fluctuations while respecting the trend demonstrated by both the domestic and regional markets,» Mora explained.
So far this year, the BCP has sold over 700 million dollars in the market, aiming to stabilize the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar.
