Paraguay improves global positioning, climbing six places in the international soft power index

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay’s country brand climbed six places in the 2026 Global Soft Power Index, compiled by the international consultancy Brand Finance, thus consolidating its presence and reputation on the international stage.

According to the report, the country ranks 78th out of 193 nations evaluated, placing it in the top half of the global ranking with a score of 36.4. This result reflects a sustained improvement in the country’s external perception in key areas such as reputation, influence, governance, culture, business, and sports.

One of the most significant advances is seen in the «Leader in Sports» indicator, where Paraguay rose four positions, solidifying sports as a strategic component of its international projection.

The Global Soft Power Index measures international perceptions of countries based on a survey of more than 150,000 people across over 100 markets. The study covers all 193 United Nations member states and evaluates multiple variables related to each nation’s influence and attractiveness.

The Investment and Export Network (Rediex) indicated that this progress is a clear sign of the country’s international reputation consolidating. They stated that the improvement strengthens market confidence and supports strategies to attract investment, promote exports, and enhance global positioning.

This result comes in a context where international image is considered a key asset for boosting economic development, tourism, and cooperation. A positive perception can translate into greater business opportunities, increased foreign investment flows, and strengthened strategic alliances.

Greater international visibility

In 2025, Paraguay hosted various international events, multilateral meetings, economic forums, and trade missions, which contributed to raising its global profile. These activities showcased the country’s organizational capacity, infrastructure, and security conditions.

Furthermore, hosting international sporting events significantly improved the country’s ranking in the sports category, reinforcing the idea of sport as a tool for public diplomacy and international projection.

Favorable investment climate

The rise in the index also coincides with macroeconomic stability, growth in foreign investment, and a strengthening business climate. Factors such as economic openness, legal predictability, and regional competitiveness continue to position Paraguay as an attractive destination for investors.

According to institutional analysis, improvements in perception indicators strengthen the confidence of trading partners, multilateral organizations, and investors, generating new opportunities for economic development and international cooperation.

The progress in the 2026 Global Soft Power Index thus reflects a gradual process of strengthening the country’s external image and its capacity to generate trust and attractiveness in an increasingly competitive global environment.
