Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay is preparing to host the 71st Meeting of the Regional Commission for the Americas (CAM) of UN Tourism, an international event to be held on May 28 and 29 at the CONMEBOL Convention Center. This event positions the country as a key player in strengthening regional tourism and as a venue for high-level meetings.
The event, organized by UN Tourism in conjunction with the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur), serves as a strategic platform to foster partnerships, exchange experiences, and promote joint initiatives to develop the tourism sector in the Americas.
The meeting will bring together 26 international delegations, including tourism authorities and leaders from across the continent, as well as Shaikha Al Nowais, Executive Secretary of UN Tourism. The organization of the event in Paraguay is being led by the Minister of Tourism, Jacinto Santa María, along with the technical team from the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur).
The Conference of the Americas (CAM) is one of the most important bodies of the UN Tourism Council, bringing together ministers, high-ranking sector officials, international organizations, and private-sector representatives. In this context, its 71st edition represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen Paraguay’s global visibility and consolidate its position as a host for major international events.
Furthermore, within the framework of the meeting, the workshops «Future in Feminine: Building the Tourism of Tomorrow» will be held to train and strengthen the capacities of women entrepreneurs in the Americas, promoting their active participation in the development of the tourism sector.
At this important gathering, Paraguay reaffirms its commitment to sustainable tourism and its aspiration to be a regional leader in the tourism industry.
