Asunción, Agencia IP.- The Paraguayan Migration Authority (DNM) reported that the second group of migrants who entered the country on May 21, under the cooperation agreement with the United States government, has been returned to their countries of origin.
The group consisted of ten people: nine foreign migrants in temporary stay status and one Paraguayan citizen. The assisted voluntary return of the migrants was carried out by air between yesterday and today.
The National Directorate of Migration explained that the procedure was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the current international cooperation mechanism, with inter-institutional support and the involvement of relevant agencies, ensuring compliance with established protocols and respect for the rights of the individuals involved.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) also provided support, covering the logistical costs of accommodation and transportation within the framework of the assisted return process.
