Foreign Ministers of Paraguay and Germany highlight the importance of the Mercosur-European Union agreement’s entry into force

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguayan Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul discussed the importance of the Mercosur-European Union Agreement. Both officials emphasized the significance of its entry into force and the benefits this agreement can generate for both regions, particularly in trade, investment, and cooperation.

This dialogue took place following a phone call Minister Ramírez Lezcano received from the German Foreign Minister.

In this context, Foreign Minister Ramírez Lezcano referred to the upcoming Mercosur Summit of Heads of State, to be held in Asunción on June 30, and extended an invitation to the German authorities.

The ministers also addressed various topics of common interest related to strengthening bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between Paraguay and Germany.

During the exchange, the foreign ministers highlighted the excellent state of relations between the two countries and the opportunities to deepen collaboration in key areas such as technology transfer, innovation, knowledge, and education, sectors considered fundamental to promoting sustainable development and competitiveness.

Both ministers also emphasized the valuable contribution of the German community in Paraguay, whose historical presence has strengthened cultural, economic, and human ties between the two nations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
